Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also. – John 14:1-3

From the time I was two to eight years old, my mom and I lived with my grandparents, Cora and John Watts. It was quite a challenge, not quite so bad with my gram but my pap was a very strict and immaculate person. I wasn’t afraid of him, actually I looked up to him, being the only male figure I had in my life during the time we lived with them. He was a true Christian and Believer in God and many times he would sit me down by the old coal stove and tell me stories from the Bible. I loved hearing the stories but being of a young age, I couldn’t comprehend a lot of what he was saying. He would say do you understand and, of course, not to make him mad, I would shake my head yes. To this day, when I listen to a sermon, I can vaguely remember my pap talking about it, but the one that sticks in my mind is John 14:1-3. I can’t tell you how many times he would read these verses to me. Now whenever I read or hear it, I remember the fondest memories of my pap whom I loved very much. To hear it now is quite different than hearing it when you were a little kid. Now it has so much more meaning. Knowing that when our life is over on this earth, we will have the most beautiful and magnificent place to go and an amazing journey to be with our loving and most gracious God.

WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE GOD IN OUR HEARTS NOW.  KNOWING WE WILL BE WITH HIM ONE OF THESE DAYS IS A VERY COMFORTING THOUGHT.
