Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. – James 4:10
When I was asked to write a devotional, I chose to write about something that meant a lot to me, and that was being humble.
Growing up as a young kid, I was not the most humble person. If I would make a three-point shot in basketball, I made sure everyone knew about it. If I would get a hit at a baseball game, I made it known that it was me who did that.
This is not what God wants; He wants a humble person. If an individual has gifts in the arts, sports, or academics, God has essentially blessed that person. God’s blessings need no elaboration or exaggeration from us. They speak for themselves in the greatness He has created.
